today is Good Friday.
how I wish I could be at home and stay away from the work. A day like this... supposes to be the day to stay at home and revise what the Son of God has done for us. His commandment to us after He is gone -- LOVE ONE ANOTHER.
on this Good Friday, most of the Christians remember a man who changed all of history by dying on the cross, a vulnerable, unadorned man. In fact, the very Son of God had made His way to a broken and wounded world. He chose to live with among people that did not understand Him at all. And in the end, He was humiliated and wounded for our transgressions and even crucified on the cross for our iniquities. Yeah, He did a choice. He could of taken himself off that cross at any given time. However, he chose not to. He chose to be vulnerable, exposed, and powerless. But three days later, he was rose from death after the crucifixion. Jesus the Good Shepherd who emptied himself on Friday to give us eternal victory on Sunday.
frankly, "what do I do on good Friday?" becomes an urgent question. Some of the discomfort feeling runs deeper since last night. Its darkness is hard to take in and its memory is haunting. I myself... could be the one being crucified on the cross. I was sinned. And I always am.
nonetheless, Good Friday... a day when we can do nothing but behold or brush aside. The Good Shepherd pierced for our transgressions. He has done everything and giving me a new life. God alone did it. He came to us in infinite love and goodness. And He granted grace beyond any measure.
truly, what God has accomplished today through a vulnerable vessel is remarkable. And indeed, Sunday is coming...
Lord,
by the suffering of Christ your Son
you have saved is all from the death
we inherited from sinful Adam.
by the law of nature
we have borne the likeness of his manhood.
for me.
I know your grace has the power
to cleanse me of my many sins
and to make me more like your Son.
thank your for your goodness and love for me.
Father, please watch over me - always.
I ask this, in the name of Jesus Christ.
